Pac-10 adjusts men's tournament bracket
LOS ANGELES (AP) -The Pac-10 Conference has adjusted game times for the quarterfinal evening session of the men's tournament at Staples Center on Thursday.
The first game of the evening will be No. 2 seed Arizona State against seventh-seeded Stanford, while No. 3 seed Washington will play sixth-seeded Oregon State in the night's second game.
The conference said that as the higher seed in the evening session, Arizona State earned the right to extra recovery time should it advance to Friday's semifinal.
With Southern California not playing in the tournament this year because of self-imposed sanctions, Pac-10 officials decided it was necessary to adjust the bracket.
The tournament begins Wednesday, with No. 8 seed Oregon playing ninth-seeded Washington State.
