Quisisana wins Santa Anita feature
ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) -Quisisana defeated Hallelujah Trail by a length to win Wednesday's $62,940 feature for fillies and mares and extend her winning streak to three races at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Quisisana ran six furlongs in 1:08.61. She paid $7, $4 and $2.40. Hallelujah Trail returned $16.60 and $5, while Free Flying Soul was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $2.10 to show.
“We had a nice trip, and this mare is improving every time she starts,” Bejarano said. “Today, I thought we were maybe the second speed in the race, but I decided not to send her. I really like this mare because you can do whatever you want with her.”
The victory, worth $41,340, increased Quisisana's career earnings to $317,098, with six wins in 11 starts. She's never finished worse than fourth.
