Soul Candy wins Del Mar feature
DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Soul Candy overtook Tripitaka in the final sixteenth of a mile to win Thursday's $57,000 feature at Del Mar.
Ridden by Tyler Baze, Soul Candy ran 1 3-8 miles on the Jimmy Durante turf course in 2:14.67 and paid $19.20, $8 and $5.40.
Tripitika returned $4.40 and $3.60 as the 5-2 favorite, while Scorpion Time was another length back in third and paid $4.60 to show.
It was Soul Candy's third win in eight career races for trainer Paddy Gallagher.
