Cardinals sign supplemental first-rounder
ST. LOUIS (AP) -The St. Louis Cardinals signed right-hander Seth Blair, a supplemental pick in the amateur draft and the 46th player taken overall.
The 21-year-old Blair, of Rock Falls, Ill., signed Friday at Busch Stadium and will report to Class A Batavia in the New York-Penn League.
Blair was 12-1 with a 3.64 ERA in 18 starts as a junior at Arizona State this season with 108 strikeouts in 106 1-3 innings.
